“And the day came when the risk to remain tight in a bud was more painful than the risk it took to blossom.

Services- Individual Therapy

All therapy sessions are 50-55 minutes in length. I offer in person sessions (on Tuesdays) and via tele-health on Mondays and Wednesdays. I use a HIPPA compliant network called SimplePractice; our conversations are confidential. I work with individuals ages 18+ and am an out of network provider. I am happy to provide superbills that you can submit to your insurance company if you have out of network benefits. I offer complimentary 15 minute consultation calls prior to intake sessions, so that you have the opportunity to share a bit about what you are seeking services for and I can explain the different techniques and modalities that I incorporate in sessions, and answer any questions that you may have. During this time, we can also determine if working together is a good fit.

Specialties

Obsessive Compulsive Disorder and Anxiety

I am passionate about working with clients experiencing OCD and anxiety. I am trained in Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP)- the “gold standard” technique for clients with obsessive compulsive disorder. ERP is a way of retraining the brain so that when an obsessive thought occurs, instead of doing a compulsion that is aimed at reducing anxiety, clients expose themselves to the thought WITHOUT doing the compulsion. Initially this can seem daunting and quite scary, yet over time, the client recognizes that they can tolerate the obsessive thoughts and ultimately, the level of anxiety become more manageable. Exposure therapy is also useful for anxiety, as it embraces scary thoughts/ideas instead of resisting them.

Highly Sensitive People

HSP- Highly Sensitive People account for approximately 15%-20% of the population. This term may be new for some, but if it is fitting you will know as soon as you learn a bit about it. You may be highly sensitive if you are easily overwhelmed by loud noises, bright lights, crowded places and are a deeply feeling person. HSP are usually quite intuitive, empathic and intensely feel the moods and emotions of others. HSP often overlap with symptoms of anxiety, though this is not always the case. In many ways, being a Highly Sensitive Person is a superpower and thinking of it in this light can allow you to lean into all that being an HSP brings to your relationship with both yourself and others too!

New and Expectant Parents

I enjoy working with parents to be and those with young children, and have had extensive training through PSI. Additionally, I am a certified Pediatric Sleep Consultant and have worked with hundreds of families on developing healthy and age appropriate sleep habits for newborns through 5 year olds. This experience has allowed me the opportunity to deepen my connection with therapy clients in this phase of life. In this work, I encourage parents to explore their own experiences with their parental figures growing up, assess how this relates to their role as parents and what shifts they would like to make. Doing this work is so crucial to breaking cycles of generational trauma that comes up so often in therapy sessions and beyond.

College Age/ Young Adults

Working with young adults has become a passion of mine. I love connecting with those who are in the midst of exploring life outside of living with parental figures and are now navigating adulthood, discovering career paths, working on achieving financial and emotional independence or developing a greater sense of self-worth. Together, we will work on understanding your symptoms and difficulties in relationships within yourself and others, learn to set appropriate boundaries and gain a better understanding of who you are, who you would like to be and where those gaps may lie. This precious time in life, while unique for everyone, is a wonderful time to access therapy and take a deep dive into your inner voice and a greater sense of self.
